I kept hearing it over and over again:

Usually with a smirk or a raised eyebrow, as if the idea was laughable. Little did they know, I’ve been able to make more in a single year than many people make in ten. That’s not a brag — that’s the power of selling on Amazon when you know what you’re doing.

But it wasn’t always like that for me.

From Small Wins to Big Mistakes

I’ve been selling on Amazon for the last 10 years. My first taste of the platform came right out of high school, working for my parents’ supplement company. Back then, their Amazon sales were about $3,000 a month. Within a year, I’d scaled that to $35,000 a month.

It was my first real win, and it lit a fire.

I decided it was time to branch out and try my own thing. I dove into Amazon arbitrage, convinced I could replicate my success. Instead, I hit a wall. I hadn’t even heard of Amazon category gating, and I ended up with thousands of dollars of unsellable inventory.

The business collapsed. I had to move back in with my parents. I was broke, discouraged, and hearing “maybe it’s time to go back to school” on repeat.

Discovering the Power of Books

Then I stumbled across books. Selling books on Amazon wasn’t glamorous, and it definitely wasn’t a gold rush at first. I started small, sourcing here and there, learning the ins and outs of the business.

The growth was slow but steady. Each month the numbers inched upward. Each mistake taught me something new. Over time, I built systems, refined my process, and scaled.

At the time of writing this, my business has done $1.5 million in sales over the last year — and is projected to do between $2.5 and $3 million next year.
